About Tooley
Tooley is a collection of 100 focused tools for everyday file problems: compressing an image to a target size, removing document metadata, reordering PDF pages, converting between data and document formats, opening up an archive to look inside it, or checking a file's checksum. Each one does a single job well: pick a tool, upload your file, get the result, done.
There are no accounts to create and nothing to sign in to. The homepage is the tool catalogue; the tool pages are the tools. The collection may grow over time; this page describes the service as it stands today.
How it works
When you use a tool, your file is uploaded to our servers and processed in an isolated container. Your original file is deleted as soon as processing finishes, and the container is removed. The resulting file is available to download for about ten minutes using a secure, signed link. After that, our automatic cleanup process deletes it from active storage.
Two things outlast the files themselves: the job record (which tool ran, when, and whether it succeeded) and a temporary, anonymous marker in your browser that keeps your results visible to you and to nobody else. Both are explained on the privacy page.
What Tooley is not
- Not a file service you store things in. Source uploads are deleted as soon as processing completes, and generated outputs are wiped shortly after.
- Not a document platform. There are no workspaces, no sharing, no profiles to delete later.
- Not an AI service. The tools do conventional, deterministic processing: an image compressor re-encodes, a PDF tool re-assembles pages, a hash tool streams a checksum. Your file is never sent to any external AI service. The one tool that reads characters out of a picture (Read text from an image) runs a local character-recognition engine on our own servers; nothing goes anywhere else.
Privacy by design
The full data-handling rules are on the privacy page. How the processing is isolated, and how to report a security issue, is on the security page. The rules of use are on the terms page. Need to reach us? The contact form is the way.
