Questions people ask
Why audit links before publishing?
A shared document's links often carry surprises: placeholder URLs from a draft, template leftovers, expired internal anchors, or links pointing at pages you did not know existed. Getting the complete list first, with each link's home, turns a page of guesswork into a page of checks.
Are headers, footers and footnotes covered?
Yes. The audit reads the Word package directly, so links in the body, in every header and footer, and in footnotes and endnotes are all found. Each entry names its part, because a header link that survives review still ships in the footer of every page.
Does the audit open or visit the links?
Never. Targets are quoted from the document only; nothing is resolved, pinged or contacted. Auditing a document is also a safe boundary: a poisoned document cannot trigger a web request by being audited here.
What counts as an "internal" link?
Links that navigate inside the document, such as anchored jumps to a heading or bookmark. They are shown with their anchor name and never turned into web addresses.
What is an "unresolved" link?
A hyperlink whose target relationship is missing from the package (documents moved between generators sometimes lose it). Those are flagged rather than dropped, because a link you cannot resolve is exactly the one to check by hand.
What happens to my files?
The upload is removed as soon as processing finishes; the report stays downloadable for about 10 minutes, then it is deleted automatically.
