Add page numbers to a PDF
Add visible page numbers to a PDF: pick any of six positions (or any of the four top/bottom corners), set the starting number, and wrap it in an optional prefix or suffix.

Questions people ask
- Can I start numbering at a number other than 1?
- Yes. Start at any number from 0 upwards: a cover page often wants 1 to be page 2. Page 1 always shows the starting number you set; every later page adds one.
- What about sideways or landscape pages?
- The number is placed in the corner a reader actually sees and drawn upright on screen: a page stored with a 90° rotation flag still shows the number horizontal, in the corner you named relative to how the page displays.
- Can the numbers say "Page 1 of 12"?
- Set the prefix to "Page " and the suffix to " / 12" (type the total yourself), or leave both out for a plain "1". Text is limited to 60 characters and must be encodable by the stamp font; anything else is refused rather than silently altered.
- Will the numbers cover my content?
- They are drawn over the page in the position you named, about one centimetre inside the page edge. If your document already prints its own number in exactly the same spot, the two will overlap, pages are not altered to make room.
- Is anything re-rendered or flattened?
- No. The stamp is a standard overlay: your text stays selectable, links, annotations and forms survive, the page count never changes, and the page's rotation is left exactly as it was.
- What happens to my files?
- The upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes; the numbered PDF stays downloadable for about 10 minutes, then it is deleted automatically.
