Questions people ask
What does this tool actually remove?
The document's Info dictionary (fields such as /Title, /Author, /Creator, /Subject, /Keywords and the creation/modification dates) plus any XMP metadata. The visible pages are re-assembled and kept; the output is not re-stamped with the scrubber's own name, so nothing new to find is left behind.
Does it change what the document looks like?
No. The tool only re-assembles the pages; it does not edit text, images, layout or the content stream.
Is this a security sanitizer?
No: it is a metadata scrubber. It removes the document's Info fields and XMP metadata; it does not inspect or neutralise active content such as scripts or embedded files. Do not treat a scrubbed PDF as malware-safe.
What file types are accepted, and how big?
A single PDF, up to 5 MB. The type is verified by the file's own bytes (a magic-byte check), not by the filename the client sent.
What happens to my files?
The input is removed as soon as processing finishes; your scrubbed PDF is available for about 10 minutes, then it is automatically deleted. No accounts, no storage beyond that.
Where is my file processed?
On Tooley's own servers, in an isolated container that has no network access and sees nothing but your file. It is not sent to an AI or any third-party service. If the file is encrypted or password-protected the tool declines rather than guessing a password.
