Split a PDF into separate files
Split one PDF into separate files, one per page or one per page range, delivered as a single ZIP with tidy names.

Questions people ask
- How is this different from the PDF page extractor?
- The extractor answers "make me one new PDF from these pages" and returns a single file. The splitter answers "put every page into its own file", and returns a ZIP of separate documents. If you want a digest, use the extractor; if you want each page delivered alone, for one-per-slide or one-per-invoice workflows, use the splitter.
- Can I split by ranges instead of single pages?
- Yes. Pick the "one file per page range" mode and list inclusive ranges such as "1-20,21-40". Each piece becomes one document in the listing order you gave, and both ends of every range are included.
- What happens to rotated pages?
- Each fragment keeps the page's own rotation flag and page geometry, so a page stored sideways stays sideways in its new file, exactly as it displayed. Nothing is rasterised and quality is untouched because the page is copied as-is.
- Is there a limit on how many files I get?
- Yes, a deliberate one: a whole-page split can produce at most 200 files. Documents longer than that are refused with a message suggesting you split them by ranges instead. The whole archive must stay under 30 MB as well.
- Does the ZIP keep my original metadata?
- No. Each fragment is a clean, fresh document: page content, links, annotations and rotation travel across, but the document-level metadata of your upload does not, which keeps the fragments free of identifying information.
- What happens to my files?
- The upload is removed as soon as processing finishes; the ZIP stays downloadable for about 10 minutes, then it is deleted automatically.
