Questions people ask
- Do I get one image per page?
- Yes. A 12-page PDF gives you 12 images, numbered in page order and named after your file: report-page-001.png, report-page-002.png and so on. Nothing is merged into a single tall image.
- Which resolution should I pick?
- 150 DPI is a good default: sharp on screen and modest file sizes. Choose 300 for print, or 72 if you only need small previews. Higher DPI means proportionally bigger images.
- What about pages that are rotated in the PDF?
- They come out the way they appear: a landscape page renders as a landscape image. The page's own rotation is applied.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server somewhere?
- Your PDF is processed in an isolated job that has no network access, and it is removed as soon as processing finishes. The images are available for about 10 minutes, then they are automatically deleted.
- Why is a page refused?
- A very large page at 300 DPI can exceed this tool's pixel budget. The tool tells you which page and suggests a lower resolution rather than producing a truncated image.
