Questions people ask
- What exactly ends up inside each exported file?
- One sheet, rebuilt as its own small workbook: every cell value, number formats, basic fonts, fills, borders and alignment, the merged ranges, column widths and hidden columns, row heights, freeze panes and the sheet's own name. The sheet arrives as it was, without the other sheets around it.
- What does not transfer with a sheet?
- Charts, images, defined tables and pivot caches cannot be copied into a new workbook by the library this tool uses, so they stay behind in your original file. That limit is stated here and in the result, never hidden: if a sheet's picture is load-bearing, keep the original workbook too.
- My sheet has a formula like =Other!A1. What happens to it?
- The formula text is copied exactly as written, not converted to a value. Because the exported file holds only one sheet, that reference cannot resolve there, and the result counts those formulas per exported sheet and names the sheets that carry them. The tool never edits or guesses a formula for you.
- Are hidden sheets included?
- Only if you ask. The default is to skip hidden sheets, and every sheet skipped that way is counted in the result, so a silent gap is never left. Switch to "include" to export them like any other sheet.
- What happens to my files?
- The upload is removed as soon as processing finishes; the ZIP stays downloadable for about 10 minutes, then it is deleted automatically. The tool never writes to your workbook, so the original you hold is exactly the one you uploaded.
